The Puritans Are Back!

@Bang5luts Honestly I always wondered what people were truly like but if we can compare Puritan's ideology and their roles in witch hunts, their beliefs... all I need to do is look at the Christian nationalists of today. That's what they were like. They probably talked differently though, old english and all that but same attitude.

@SatanBurger and these people are not true followers of Christ. Jesus the man in history was one of peace and love not one of strife and punishment. If anything these people are Ecco and stir up anger and strife amongst people. They are evil people with the hope of separating the people of the world further for their own benefit. I don't engage these people or even give notice to their mental instability

@Bang5luts I really want to agree, it's not that I don't agree that there aren't good followers (Quakers were involved with civil rights) but I argue on the logic of true followers. The way bad followers can find meaning is that many verses are abstract and many verses are also violent. The bible has love thy neighbor but the bible also said that Jesus came not for peace, but with a sword. Lots of vengeance and violence so I mean people can take it either way.

I'm spiritual so I'm not trying to make an atheist argument but I don't buy the true follower thing, there's many different sects and based on their own biases can get whatever they wish out of it. That's why we had separation of church and state even though it's never truly been that way, it should though.

@SatanBurger the separation of church and state is crucial to our survival as a social society I believe. And what you believe won't change the fact that I adore you. Even if it is different than what I believe. In fact that will just make me want to get to know you more. 🤗 so I guess you can say I'm a creepy Christian because our differences will only draw me closer to you and give me more appreciation for you and your beliefs.

@Bang5luts Thank you, I have a habit of overly explaining myself because I don't want to lose you as a friend for disagreeing but I'm glad that just slight disagreements won't stop you from liking me. 🤗

That's happened to me in the past so I'm glad we can have differences and still be alright.

@SatanBurger we do have differences and it's OK. I can learn a lot from you. I can learn to see things differently and open my mind to new possibilities.
