"Is love is an absolute, or is it subjective?"

I think that love isn't an absolute, but that many of the things that some people think of as love are absolutely not love.

Not sure it's either one of these things but then I'm not sure love can be given a simple definition. There are types of love but you can also love absolutely. I would describe it more as love being not constant?
