Do you prefer someone to tell you how it is straightshooter style or do you prefer carefully chosen words to soften the blow corporate america style?

I've always been a blunt/ tells you like it is kind of person and normally I'm loved for that kind of stuff. It's taken me aback hearing that others at my current job don't like it and think it's mean and not being a team player because I'm not framing my words carefully or putting cushy stuff into them to soften the blow.

Would you rather me tell you "hey you need to tell me what's going on before we hold on food i'm not a mind reader"
Would you rather me tell you "Please communicate with me more clearly in the future please and thank you"

I don't like the second corporate speak one because it's vague and the meaning is left open to interpretation where as in the first one I'm telling you whats up and I'm telling you what's wrong. Nooo that's too mean and straightforward. The goal is to get food out quickly and done properly meaning everything is prepared right. If we keep waiting and waiting then the other food on the plate is going cold not good. Timing and communication is key.
