There is no other. Sole love.

I have dreamed you my whole life.

You are the woman I follow on the beach. You lean into the cool wind, your hair a blaze of fire streaming behind you. I can’t catch up with you, I can’t see your face. But I know it is you.

I am drawn, compelled. A yearning that is deep, instinctual. Just to see your face, see the brightness of your eyes. The flesh of your lips. But I can never catch up. I sleep on the beach, holding myself in the cold, and the next day— there you are. Just up beyond that little cove. No. Beyond that little sand bar…

One little curl, one ringlet, flies on the wind like a kite. It strikes my face. I hold it there, breathe in your scent. And in an instant, there you are. I am breathing your life through our first kisses. Alive in your heat, your scent. Frankincense of your neck, myrrh of your ear, hair…

I finally found you, caught you.

Now with love fulfilled, nourishing us both— my dreams are different. They are simple. The dreams that make up a life together. I choke up thinking of your wrapped in the covers, snoring gently. How you call your little ones’ names, evocations baked in gratitude. Your clothes on the floor at the foot of the bed, the softness of your belly on the side of my face.

I call them dreams because this grace, the miracle of you, an us, manifested from the cauldron my yearning. Lead by a memory of you. I call them dreams because I will forever dream them. Forever manifest the experience of being with you. There is no other. Sole love.

A promise has been honored. I am grateful for the courage to have never let go of that gossamer that connected us long ago, to let it grow to this bolt of lightening. This thread of energy forever connecting heaven and earth. You and I.
