It is exhausting to try to do the right thing

When it's so effortless to bring down the discourse or leave the world in a worse place than when you found it. I think it is because acting "acceptable" means that we all follow the same social contract. And some people just aren't interested in that for various reasons. I don't see myself as some hero or crusader, just tired from trying to be consistent to my own moral code.
