I Have Random Thoughts

You know one thing that always annoyed me about cop shows, besides the fact they use those "triangulate the cell phone" and "this grainy picture somehow becomes clearer when blown up" tropes? How female detectives almost always wear heels, skinny jeans and low cut and/or skin-tight tops.
Even if they don't wear the other stuff, they still have freaking heels. Every damn time
But if a male detective or other plainclothes officer wore skin tight stuff, he'd be reprimanded for unprofessionalism.

So true, it's really unrealistic. All the female officers are dressed to work just like the male officers.

@Alicemesses308 And then so many of them have a pole up their ass regarding one thing or another.

@ScrewThisImDone Yeah, I think Blue Bloods did well with the women equipment wise. I just don't get why they have to portray women like that, for veiwers and ratings obviously but it's really annoying.

@Alicemesses308 You can always tell which the person/people in charge are into when it comes to who gets the tightest/most revealing outfits.

@ScrewThisImDone It's like some weird statement, I've been told time and again that "sex sells" and that really ticks me off.

@Alicemesses308 Yeah, it's really pathetic that "sexy" is what sells over story, characters or virtually any other aspect of media.

@ScrewThisImDone From what I've seen with newly relased shows, there is always some sex scene in the pilot episode. They use it as a hook to keep people watching.

@Alicemesses308 How is it that so many people are so against yet obsessed with sex at the same time?
Alicemesses308 · 26-30, F
@ScrewThisImDone Hypocrisy, it does seem like people are caring less and less about it though.

@Alicemesses308 Now if only they'd stop normalizing and romanticizing abusive behavior in romances...
