You'd think so, but not always the case

It’s not that easy. You have to have the same goals and desires. Personality and disposition has a lot to do with it also. Either you grow together or grow apart.

Yeah you'd sure think so, but sometimes ego and pride get in the way

@SW-User yup, sometimes we hold on so tight to that it squeezes out everything else. Sad

I’m a never ceasing romantic. I do believe in what you are saying. I truly do want to belive in this. I also read all the comments below and they are correct too. Love can be very mercurial and fleeting, with an energy of its own, at times. If two people share a deep love, no matter what happens and really cannot live without each other, what you say, is very possible. They will naturally stay together and work together. I have seen many examples. One just has to be blessed with the right mate. Choosing a mate is one of the most import decisions, one can make but so many do so, for very wrong reasons.🤗

I've always believed in that, I'm a die hard. But, I've learned it's not so black and white. Our minds can ruin love.
Sometimes we seem better at love in the romantic expression/words/fantasy aka in theory versus the raw reality or sacrifice.
I've always loved this:
