Assuming that an ordinary fly weighs 0.125 g, the 17 million flies weigh 2125 kg, about 25 times the weight of an average human.
2 tons of flies for each human!

And they all seem to sneak through the front door when I open it when I get home. So gross.

if you go to the Australian outback there seems like more than that! Some summers after some rain it can be horrendous
