I Have Random Thoughts

How important is for you to feel productive? I feel that on some days posting here a couple of things, which are likely to be read just by a few friends, is the only productive thing I do in the whole day. And it makes me feel guilty.

I know there is no reason for this feeling. Being productive is something ingrained in most of us, in many cases as the contrary of being selfish.

If I had children, I doubt I would have this feeling. Everything you do for your children is productive. Maybe that's the reason why people have children?

I don't know, I dont have children or have the yearning, what I think is productive is getting my shit together. make sure the garden is tidy make sure my work assignments are done , see various family members with children (people with children tend to spend time with their own families)

Productiveness is subjective to what you want out of life. Children would not give me the productiveness I yearn. I'd more than likely not get the things I want done because of them.

@Gangstress You are right when you say productiveness is subjective.

The usual meaning of being productive today is spending eight hours working in exchange for a salary, regardless of the real utility of that work.

I think of being productive in terms of doing something for a community (family, town, even the SW communitity), but why not for yourself?
