I Have Random Thoughts

I didn’t watch She-Ra as a kid, but doesn’t the name kind of insinuate that you should be able to tell the character is female at a glance? The new one goes from looking almost genderless to a long-haired marshmallow on fat stilts, and you still can’t tell it’s a woman for sure.

So I just looked up images online (to me She-Ra is the 80s cartoon) and boy was I shocked. They took a very mature sexy character and made her this kid who, if you remove the hair, would just be considered a boy. In fact somehow she becomes more boyish when she transforms. This is mainly due to poor animation style. They lack shading making everything look flat and all the characters are very androgenous in appearance.

The show's creator was originally just a comic artist on Tumblr, which explains so much.@Qwerty14
