I'm not sure if that's related to being negative, but a lot people do participate in "discussions" like that indeed and it's pointless to tell such people your opinion or even facts.

mostly about negative attitude, even if the facts are accurate, one should be more respectful and kind .. There should be a space for a civilized discussion

Respect is always important. I think it has more to do with stubbornness and close mindedness than negativity in general though, although those are types of negativity of course.
