I Have Random Thoughts

It's been a very rough last few days. My beautiful Australian Shepherd dog Diva was bitten by a tick and became infected with Lyme disease. She had to be euthanized yesterday because the paralysis was rampant throughout her body and moving into her throat. This horrendous disease afflicts many canines and is deadly to approxinsyely 3-5% of their population.

Thanks to the environmental activists, the city no longer sprays pesticides in the area so the tick numbers are increasing and are becoming an epidemic. I guess they don't realize how severe the problem actually is in regards to animals and humans..

I'm going to miss our little girl. She was my adorable fur baby and it seems strange not to have her sweet gentle and exuberant presence here today.

Oh wow! I did not think Lymne affected animals! So sorry for your loss.
@mrbuddhawannabe Yes unfortunately both humans and animals, it's usually transmitted through infected deer ticks.

@sensualbeauty1 I have a couple of friends who had been affected by Lymne.
@mrbuddhawannabe The symptoms are very difficult to detect because they're very similar to MS. A blood test after a person is bitten by a tick, should be done within 72 hours to determine if the tick did indeed carry the disease.
