I Have Random Thoughts

I really don't like it when people always say the book was better than the movie.
When we're discussing the fact whether the movie or the book was better, it's okay.
But when you're reviewing a movie without the book being present in the conversation there's no need to say the book was better. They are two separate entities.

It's always been a pet peeve of mine...

Fair comment. It's pretty much always going to be the case that the book is better - it's got hours more to play with for starters. Films should be judged on whether they are good representations of the books they're based on, imho. Cases in point: LOTR - great. Eragon - absolute disappointment.

@Cheesecake Exactly. Reasoning that the book was more detailed is just stupid because if movies were to be as detailed as the books, they would all be at least 4 hours long.
