I Want To Write My Random Thoughts And Feelings

This is just something I've noticed for quite a while now, and I'm by no means criticising or judging others: how spirituality has basically been turned into this kind of pseudo fad, something that people say they associate and identity with because it's almost hip and trendy to do so - it looks good on people's virtual CV. In many ways, spirituality has almost become the new punk rock of our times. It's the ultimate fashion accessory (or at least it's become that way).

These days you see so many people identity themselves as "spiritual", yet when it comes to their actual behaviour, their actual beliefs, and their general outlook on life it's anything but spiritual; it reeks of drama, and this general gossipy vibe that a lot of people seem to carry.

Of course people are entitled to call themselves whatever they want to call themselves, I just think it cheapens the overall sincerity of what traditional spirituality may have once stood for, when everybody and anybody can jump on board the train without ever needing to fully practice (and understand) what it is they say they're preaching or identifying as...

As a side note, "spirituality" in itself is a meaningless piece of terminology, because what happens is that people generally substitute the word for the actual underlying principles and concepts involved (and totally miss the point of them as a result).

A truly spiritual person, in my eyes, would almost be reluctant to take up the label of being "spiritual", and a truly spiritual person would basically just keep it to themselves unless specifically asked. It certainly wouldn't be used as an expedient to further one's social perception (particularly in this virtual world we call the Internet).

Each to our own.

good to get a rant out, but are you not equally taking anger out against towards something that can not be entirely understood.

@SW-User There was no anger. Not even slightly.

That makes me wonder how I've been perceived on here in general. Do I actually come across as angry? Lol.
