I Have Something to Say

At what point in a politician's career do they start forgetting who pays their salary and start deciding that they know best and the voters should just toe the line? 🤔

Riots! Ok. It's fine. But, still waiting a different political party. One that has different ways to organise everything, beginning with the same political parties policy. I mean, like you said before, a more participative Democracy.
I want politicians to limit themselves to accomplish what we want.
You said it very well before and I'm torally agree with you.

Regarding the question about the vote. How can I vote for a political party if I don't believe anything they are saying bc I already know how they act? How can I vote for a liar?

@ twistermind - never a truer word said. One would think that they would take pride it their work and keep it up for their entire term, but no. Most of them coast until election time and then they go out of their way to sucker the voter again by lying extra hard!

Just look at the majority of them before we vote for them, there not people we would associate with in normal life normally, normally very driven people that nothing stands in the way of. Look at every time we vote they say do this and that and truthfully were lucky if manage to do one single item off the list that they were voted In for. They even swap and leave parties which often was why they got voted in so pretty much the most untrustworthy people in the country with there own agenda only in mind

@ twistermind - Had this argument with my brother about whether voting is valuable. I said no because we only vote like one every few years, so how can you effect change that way. The only way to get things done is to be loud and obnoxious and remind the civil service that WE pay their salaries, that in effect WE are their bosses and I for one really don't want to hear the words "we can't" or "we don't" when it is painfully obvious that you could if you hadn't bloody wasted our tax money!

I think since the same moment they get the votes. They then, don't care until the next elections.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
As soon as they say "I do" after being sworn in?
Sueisright · 31-35, F
Totally agree,if they did a good job no one would mind but most are lame ducks,
They don't really have anyone to answer too they can do as good or bad as choose. Yes we can not vote for them but in reality it's not often an option because lots of people vote for party not candidate and they know this .

Hey I'm up for a good riot. But no political party wants me in charge of anything because I will wreak hell! Don't let me organize the riot because I won't be gunning for the local clinic or police station. I'm headed to the Prez's house and you better believe he's gonna shit himself!
Sueisright · 31-35, F
I think that there policies when voted in they should have to prove that they are fighting for the policies or else we can have new election and replace them
dicavill · 51-55, F
@ twistermind - no because it usually the egotists with the big mouths and the better sales skills who end up front and center!
Sueisright · 31-35, F
When they have scammed enough money to be rich enough not to care anymore
dicavill · 51-55, F
@ Sulusuwakis - it's like you said before. Politicians go through elections for the ego stroke not because they want to serve the public. I think a bunch of them get elected and then realize how much work goes into public service and then spend three quarters of their terms resisting doing any work right up until the next election is announced!

I'm in South Africa - Last week they were rioting in our capital city over who's going to be the next mayor. So they burned 20 busses and looted stores and stuff. If I'd been in charge we would have commandeered those busses, driven down to a place called Luthuli House and looted the government offices! But don't worry I know what you mean by the escrache - they do it here too.

When they are first elected.
Calmsoul · 31-35, M
as soon as they come into power
twistermind · 51-55, F
Here, the political party in the power made a law to avoid these kinds of riots. Lol!
You know what Argentinians call "escrache", I think in English is scratch.

You know when all the political parties arrive to agreements in: to go on hollidays and work less, or to rise their salaries. 🙄
twistermind · 51-55, F
I'm pretty disappointed with politicians in my country. I didn't vote yesterday in the elections. I ran out of options, once you don't care about what they say but what they do.
dicavill · 51-55, F
@ Sulusuwakis - and when is enough enough? Maybe we should have them write down a number before they take office so we can make them perform like circus freaks to earn it!
twistermind · 51-55, F
I can't deny many of them have good intentions and fight for their ideas. But, I put it out a question: Are these the ones who reach the top of their parties?
dicavill · 51-55, F
@ twistermind - no because it usually the egotists with the big mouths and the better sales skills who end up front and center!
dicavill · 51-55, F
No - the people in charge are still going ahead with the same plans. Its all just a dance and we are just the caterers...
Sueisright · 31-35, F
Don't take them long to learn how to get there snouts in the trough
twistermind · 51-55, F
Tell me. Did they get something with it?
