I Have Something to Say

We can put a man on the moon (possibly. I'm not looking for a debate on that one lol), create weapons that can wipe out entire countries as a click of a button, and are on our way to develop whole head transplants, but we can't find a cure for the common cold?

Or maybe we can, but there's less money in a cure compared to the treatment? On the other hand, if it's the kind of thing that regularly mutates, there would be no way to cure it before the structure changes again needing another cure.

Either way.....I need to get rid of this damn cold because battling a cold, tonsillitis and food poisoning when you have less than a week to complete and submit 2 uni assignments is never fun :(

We can't find a cure to it because of how fast it mutates, amongst other things. And if there was more money to be had with treatment than cures, then there would not be a cure for anything. Also, you're really underselling just how much you could charge for a cure to something, especially if you patent it.

@KiwiDan: I see your point, but if you charged enough for a cure that would generate the same revenue as repeated treatments (especially with the amount of times some people get colds), then a lot of people won't be able to afford it

In order to completely eliminate the cold we would have to build massive quarantine centers where the disease would burn through and go extinct from the removal of hosts.

Whadya mean we woman. I aint got nothin in common with you. The rest of the human race is pretty divided to. Cures are called vaccinations. Get one.

You're done until the food poisoning is gone (if it's the proper one that evacuates your body for 24 hours).

I heard just after New Years' that there was a patent put in on a potential cure.
