I Have Something to Say

Is it really fair to scrutinise and debate with somebody over their religion as long as they are not causing any harm?

Of course you may not agree with somebody's beliefs but it is something unique to their identity, it is part of their being.

Yes there are homophobic references in some bibles just as the prophet Muhammad married a nine year old.

There are negative aspects to religion just as there is to science.. After all it took scientific knowledge to invent let's see create nuclear weapons, biological weapons etc.

A lot of the time religion betters people morally.. I've been to church in obligation mainly and they don't teach hate.. They teach community, support, friendship.. GOOD VALUES.

Sometimes people use good things to do bad.. That's people for you.

Edit: You can say it's healthy to debate but I bet it's a difference story if somebody challenges your beliefs. Y'know nobody likes being told they are wrong or having their values questioned.

If someone posts here about something they should expect opposing opinions and ideas.

If people do not want to discuss or debate their beliefs then maybe they should keep them to theirself.

This goes for the real world too. If you walk around telling people about your beliefs then expect responses that may not be to your liking. And or expect having to have some s9rt of further discussion.

By the way: the biggest things about faith is that you are to spread the word of God to everyone. If a person has faith in God they typically are happy to discuss it.

@JaggedLittlePill: Idk so people are supposed to say nothing. What if it was something small like "----- is the best band" and that turned into a debate?
