We have background checks now. A family member can't even send you a gun via UPS or Fed-Ex without it going to a gun dealer first and you paying a fee. It is not about safety it is about MONEY. France had the most stringent gun control laws on the planet and it didn't keep Paris from being shot up. There is a flaw in background checks. HIPAA laws prevent medical professionals from revealing patient information. Guess we need to change those first.
