I Have Something to Say

I hate being around adults that do not swear. They're like "fricking" and "shoot". Wtf is that? I'm sorry, but I can't. We are adults, Mary.

It's funny that you think this is why kids are stupid.
My kids are anything but stupid.
Top of their class, honor roll, well spoken, articulate, witty, and are fluent in sarcasm. Their teachers do nothing but rave about how well they can carry a conversation, and how much they enjoy being able to joke with them at a higher level than the rest of their peers. They do catch on to the teachers snarky comments and offer witty responses.
They know swear words but they also know it's not age appropriate. How would my kids having my or my husbands vulgar language be of any benefit to them? Especially since my swear word index is a lot more than just English, it's also in Spanish, some Polish and a few bad Korean words I picked up from places where i worked at.
Every one has their own parenting style, but using or not using swear words won't make a kid stupid.
If anything I would think that swearingg would be indicative of a child's behavioral issues and or the need of attention. If my child has to add shock value to feel heard than I am clearly doing something wrong as a parent.
