In 2019 I wrote this on Facebook when my daughters were 4yr old 2yr old.

Hi, is it alright to rant? Well I'm gonna do it anyway because I don't want to mask my feelings right now.

1. I'm jealous of moms who could handle kids aged 2 and 4.

2. I'm jealous of moms who get help from people who are willing.

3. I'm jealous of moms who don't burn food when they cook.

4. I'm jealous of moms who can have time for themselves.

5. I'm jealous of moms who could go out with their friends.

6. I'm jealous of moms who could sleep until 7am without waking up in the middle of the night.

7. I'm jealous of moms who could eat in peace.

8. I'm jealous of moms who still have time to read books.

9. I'm jealous of moms who could still take up courses so they could learn.

10. I'm jealous of moms who have toddlers and still manage to clean the house.

11. I'm jealous of moms who could still iron everyone's clothes.

12. I'm jealous of moms who could have hobbies.

13. I'm jealous of moms who could fake it.

Actually I'm not finished. The list goes on and on..

I'm just being true. No one is perfectly happy. No one has a flawless life. We know it. Even if someone says she couldn't ask for anything more, even if she says she's the most fortunate.

Now I'm not jealous anymore. I have survived 11 years. I don't have yet number 2 yet, but I am not complaining. I can't force anyone who doesn't want to be in my kids' lives they are not counted anymore. In less that 2 weeks I am starting something for me. I will take up a course whether I work as being paid or a volunteer. It is for me. As for faking, I keep it real. No time for faking being a real mother.

Did this come up in your memories?

I like getting to see the things from years ago and reflecting on how the world, the situation, or myself has changed and evolved in the retrospect of whichever thing I'm remembering writing.

I'm glad you seem more positive about those old thoughts.
Kinda lets you know how far you've come, doesn't it ?

I hope you are proud of your growth?

It’s tough being the only parent (yes this goes for the married single parents too) I’m glad you’re doing something for you!
