Help me understand...

Why I keep seeing people say:

"Caught out"

Instead of

"Called out" ???

It's ...Called out.

Not caught out.

How does that even make sense?

Caught out means: someone caught you out when you were not supposed to be out.

Called out means someone called you on your bullshit.

Right?

Right.
