We become time machines, never living in the moment. And now we can't remember how to love what's right in front of us.

You mentioned the word "we" three times in your post. The "we" you are referring to is yourself, not the rest of us. You have no idea what anyone else remembers or forgets to do. Don't worry about us, just worry about yourself.
