Saw a news report online that my former therapist was arrested for a DUI. Such a weird feeling seeing someone you know arrested

It's so surreal. Like you think you know somebody until you see what they're capable of.
A guy I fought with in middle school ended up killing an old man during a carjacking a few years later. He was a jerk and a creep, but didn't strike me like a crazed criminal.
I also played football with a really nice, quiet kid that seemed to commit to whatever he wanted to accomplish. One day I stopped seeing him in school and later found out he was arrested for armed robbery. Still hard to wrap my head around that one.
