Yes they're worse than terrible, they're horrific!

@badminton I love gin so I thought I would like it but it just didn't mix I might have made it wrong lol
LamontCranston · M
@badminton Definitely in the summer.
LamontCranston · M
For some reason, it was not possible to reply to your question on difference between seltzer and tonic. They may look the same but selter is carbonated water and tonic has a taste and contains quinine. Some people drink it as is. I enjoy Campari and tonic in the summer with lime as well as G &T.
Interesting fact: if you ever get leg cramps, drinking tonic will relieve it.

If made right I think they are really good
BizSuitStacy · M
Used to like drinking a dry, gin martini after work, then kind of lost the taste for them. Then I had one recently...meh 😕

@SW-User I like a gin and tonic with lime

SW-User
@BizSuitStacy i will buy some tonics soon I haven't had any at home yet what's the main difference between tonic and seltzer water lol
BizSuitStacy · M
@SW-User just a different taste. Tonic and lime complement each other nicely, along with the juniper in the gin. Gin doesn't taste very good with seltzer.

I never did care for them.

Gatsby and I, both men of the world and men about town, enjoy a martini. I do prefer more than a whiff of vermouth and find that The Botanist gin is the best.
A vodka martini is heretical.

I tried a James Bond martini, shaken not stirred. It did not taste very good. It is something that has to be acquired for the palette

Don’t like vodka ?

SW-User
@jackson55 really I always thought it was gin
jackson55 · M
@SW-User I said not all. Sure, you can make them with gin.
LamontCranston · M
@jackson55 As mentioned elsewhere , vodka martinis are heretical. We should revive burning at the stake for people who indulge in them.

Nah...go smooth vodka and it's like drinking cold spring water. Your bartender has to know what he's doing.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Alcohol is definitely an acquired taste, especially the more bitter spirits like those used in martinis.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
When I was a barrender I got so many compliments on my martinis. Twice I tried them and they were terrible.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
funny enough if you keep drinking them they don't taste as bad after a while
yeah. I've never understood the draw.
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
You couldn't be more wrong(I've never had alcohol in my life but just want to argue)

I had one of those on my 21st bday. I spit it out on the first sip, and then after that I forced it down.
And surprisingly asked for another one lol

Dirty vodka martinis are delicious. Gin is disgusting.
Atlotto · M
I agree...The best part of martinis are the olives.
