Library shenanigans.....
When the book bans started and the zealots of the country started harrassing libraries....Moms for Liberty in my area (soccer moms with way, way too much time and money on their hands ) began harrassing Library staff and patrons. Not just in their own communities but the ones around them.
A group of MFL women from my city went to other communities surrounding us and started trouble. They video recorded themselves harrassing patrons (adults who had children in the library enjoying the books amd activites) inside the library of a town nearby. That library had to cancel a bunch of planned events because of these asshole moms.
Fast forward to now....a Library board trustee was removed from the board of one of the libraries by vote. This board member seems to have been in cahoots with these moms and others like them...this board member was caught attempting to leak confidential internal communications.
He is big mad that he was removed. He has a couple people on his side...like the mayor who seems to give lame and ambiguous quotes about "board members should communicate their problems and solve them" as if the issue is a lack of communication between board members and not a rogue board member who goes against the very premise of a library's role in society.
To really hit home how utterly ignorant this board member is....I leave you with this very succinct quote which tells you all you need to know about the ways in which this board member was wrong for a library board trustee position:
