Besides - you're absolutely 100% wrong. In my lifetime alone, US action has liberated 8 countries, been instrumental in 5 more, and deterred the greatest evil empire from oppressing mankind. I'm sorry that peaceful methods didn't work with the same effect, but facts are facts and history is what it is.

Djce45, thanks for your post. I tried to reply to all that I saw about Memorial Day on Memorial Day but missed yours. Thanks for posting, and I agree to honor our fallen heroes. For truly they are heroes and we owe it to them and their families to honor their sacrifices. Their sacrifices are part of what preserves the rights of all, including the right to condemn them for what they did.

For those who disagree, you have that right. But reality shows that war is unfortunately necessary. For example, maybe if people had just asked Hitler nicely to stop exterminating Jewish people or invading and capturing other countries he would have just stopped. Somehow I'm quite sure he would not have stopped on his own though.

I served a total of 23 years, and 9 more in the Reserves, and included 5 combat tours. It is you that has hate, and as I mentioned before, this forum is to honor the fallen, not to discuss your twisted ignorance - and your hatred for better men and women than you.
As for not knowing you - you are clearly demonstrating who and what you are... and for that you can only be pitied and despised.

I was RA for 23 years... but I don't disparage reservists, as you have.
I was in Armor for 10 years, and the rest from civil affairs and intelligence.

I'm not sure in what way you think we were lied to. We were attacked, that's what happened. Every other opinion is ideological nonsense. The idea that there would be no wars without politics is delusional, and has no historical precedence... at all.

That's a policy position, not a reason to dishonor fallen veterans.

I don't disagree with it having been a poor choice, but historically speaking, it helped the Asian Tigers (Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan) grow during a period of vulnerability, leading to much greater freedom. In fact, good historians will tell you the communist world really expended itself there... so historically it's looking better than it did in 1975.

I explained what branch I served in (though I'm not sure that matters, I respect those who served in any capacity).

@Thewingedwolfserpent - I'm no longer buying that you were 11B. I know 11Bs (now known as 11X), I served with 11Bs, and I have led 11Bs (in combat). They don't talk as you do, even though they have the full range of political opinions as well, as is their right. I'm pretty certain the men I've known would disown you, as I have - from the honor of being a veteran (or even of being a man).

1) Not respecting your fallen comrades, if you are who you says you are - is an act of dishonor and betrayal. Since those characteristics come naturally to you - you don't even feel it.
2) I have plenty of experience, friendships with, and acceptance of veterans who don't think like me, and who disagree with our military policies. But none of them are full of hate such as you - and they would not claim you. Cause.. you're not one.
3) I have 32 years of total service, 23 on active duty, and 9 either as reserves or as a cadet. That adds up. If you could count you'd know that.
4) Cannon cockers are usually 13B or 13M artillerymen, not armor (19-series now), you would know that if you are what you claim to be. But you're not.
5) I have expressed neither jealousy nor fear nor hatred - those attributes characterize you, and you're miserable because of it.
6) You fear christians, as well you should - cause the very existence of christians condemns you - and in the next life, it's christians who will judge your pathetic little ass.
Also, you said it's too late to pray for the fallen. Really?? Do you know anything about God... anything at all?? Your statements reveal typical incoherent ignorance. He doesn't operate on our timeline. In fact he created it. It's not too late to pray - even for you... even after you die.

That does two things - it brings tremendous relief, and more importantly, it brings a change of heart which in a christian, should resolve him to live a life more like what Jesus would want (though we are never fully free of sin till the next life.

I am very cognizant of what's going on and you clearly think it is worse than it is, maybe you are a conspiracy nut. I don't like government corruption nor the way the elites look only after themselves, and I'm not opposed to a massive renewal of government to throw out the bums and put people in who care more about the citizens.

However, that corruption has nothing to do with our wars - that is a false and ignorant charge, as if threats didn't actually exist. While one can argue for or against a particular military intervention, they have been for a good purpose, and have largely succeeded in expanding the boundaries of freedom and opportunity. Even Vietnam by shielding the East Asia tigers as they grew democratically...

That issue about elites running the government for their own reasons, is one I agree with you on (though I wouldn't call it a war). It's also... 100% - not related to this issue, nor to the issue of respect to the fallen, and America's admirable record of defending and expanding freedoms overseas.
