Quality or scam?

[c=359E00]this post on instagram catch my interest. Well.. basicly the poster comparing street coffee with starbucks coffee, with just adding logo into the package and the price instantly skyrocketing, he also add that quote : life is not expensive but lifestyle is expensive. It's not wrong but i do feel something off about this post..
Think about it.. from production point of view, higher quality stuff means higher production cost, lower quality stuff means lower production cost, so when you use higher quality ingredients it's just normal that you set your price higher, it's as simple as that 🤷‍♀️ but it seems like many people still think higher price means scam[/c]

a large part of the attraction at starbucks is
1) the aroma when you walk in the room
2) the desserts
3) the fancy way they produce the coffee

if the street vendor has the same machine and ingredients it will lack the aroma so it will be a little less desireable

I think the green color of the building also adds to the overal experience.

packaging makes a lot of difference
@Pretzel [c=359E00]so it's more like overall experience[/c]

Yes, you've got part of it right.
Higher priced ingredients leads to a higher quality product, thus requiring a higher price to cover costs and make a profit.
What also is at play here is "branding."
Companies like Starbucks have invested time and money in creating and building a brand.
A brand includes, not just the product, but the decore, the level of customer service that is provided, as well as many more aspects we come to expect from a certain retailer.
So, while the creator of the meme missed the whole point of branding, you seem to be on the right track.
@calicuz [c=359E00]oh yes i also learn a bit about branding, to give life and value to our product or service. But sadly.. i must admit that there is huge misconception about branding in our people, a lot of them still think branding=logo, what makes product expensive is not value but the logo[/c]
