That I do not wish to watch the funeral of the Queen ....why is it on every channel in the United States?

Can someone explain this to me like we didn't fight a war to leave the rule of a King and steal the land from Natives?

I’m watching the Disney channel so I didn’t realize (it’s not airing there). I guess, they’re our friends now and this is a big deal.
