I am not sorry

That I do not wish to watch the funeral of the Queen ....why is it on every channel in the United States?

Can someone explain this to me like we didn't fight a war to leave the rule of a King and steal the land from Natives?

It's not like this happens every day. It's an unusual story. Nobody much under age 80 was around for the last one, and King George VI's funeral wasn't televised. Expect the same for Charles' coronation.

@LeopoldBloom I do not care. Most of us likely don't need it to be on every channel. One channel is sufficient. It doesn't need to be shoved down the throat.

@LeopoldBloom You're right. It doesn't happen everyday. So when she passed, a news story on the British monarch passing would have been sufficient.

But the obsession with all things royal in the last week has been insane. Personally, I object to the very concept that anyone is "royal" and most especially object to the crown's claim to be divinely anointed.
@LeopoldBloom Both the wedding between Charles and Diana and Diana’s funeral received a lot of footage here, too.
@bijouxbroussard I didn't watch it as I didn't own a TV at the time, but I heard about it. I remember being in a class and this girl I was sitting next to had a photo, and said "she looks Greek" referring to Diana. I made some inane comment about how all the European nobility were related, and she gave me this weird look and said "I mean Greek like she's in a sorority."
