It boggles my mind that people don't understand proper table place settings.

How do you not know which fork is for what or what plate or bowl is for what? You've got to be kidding me. Everything has a specific purpose.

You still have no clue that many people are lucky to have food and one fork.

Of all the things I worry about, glitzy stuffy etiquette is not included.

@Mamapolo2016 True but that knowledge comes in handy in social situations. For example business events or fine dining parties.
@Addictedtoglamour For a very large percentage of the world, those events are irrelevant. Way off the radar. For the most part, the only people who care are the few elite in that circle, and social climbers who want to be in that circle.

Meaningless to the rest.

@Mamapolo2016 The only reason I know is because I was taught by my parents. It just comes in handy because you don't want to look dumb in front of business people or the big wigs.
@Addictedtoglamour If one moves in such circles. Not everyone does.
@Addictedtoglamour I know which fork to use. I just don't care to have dinner with stuffed shirts who care about that sort of thing.
