Political divisions themselves do not bother me, as they will always exist.
What does bother me is when those divisions cut through families and end friendships.
I read an article online once, by a Biden supporter when his Trump-supporting family had cut ties with him (I realize that this could have happened the other way around as well.) His point was: we have been through so much over the years, watching our families grow, going to weddings, going to kids' birthday parties, etc...are we really going to let two guys in Washington who we don't even know personally put an end to all that?
I have friends and family members who voted in a way I did not vote. That has not changed my relationship with them at all.
