I Have Something to Say

I understand that the minimum number of people needed to repopulate after a worldwide catastrophe is around 160. If that is the case, how is the human race still here?

@gregloa Well below the number needed to maintain a healthy gene pool.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Bushranger all things are possible with God. We ultimately started with 2
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@gregloa Below certain numbers, the gene pool is not big enough to maintain a healthy population. If we were created by God, we were created in our current form which relies on genes to pass on traits. Unfortunately, with too small a gene pool, the risk to the population is too great and places it at high risk of extinction. Saying that all things are possible with God, is a cop out that does not take into account the realities of life.

@gregloa What about the cheetahs? They're all inbred as buggery, does God not care about the cheetahs?
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Allelse And don't forget the elephant seals. Both are species at high risk of extinction.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Bushranger oh ye of little faith. God can make any genes he so chooses.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@gregloa That's where you are wrong, I have no faith.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Bushranger good for you. I do have faith in my God and his son Jesus. I pray God this man comes to repentance and is blessed with strong faith in you and your son. Amen
Allelse · 36-40, M
@gregloa Then how come he lets the Cheetahs remain all inbred?
Allelse · 36-40, M
@gregloa Are you going to pray for the poor cheetahs?
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Allelse how come he lets you remain unbelieving. He cannot be blamed for mans mistakes
Allelse · 36-40, M
@gregloa so its the cheetahs fault they're inbred?
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@gregloa Thank you for your prayer, but I don't need it. BTW, I don't care if you are a believer, I won't try to convert you to the dark side, but I would like to have a good, realist based discussion.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Allelse no it’s yours
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Bushranger anything I say will be unrealistic. All things are possible with God. What more is there to say.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@gregloa I've heard this argument that original sin is the reason for all the ills of the world. But then there was the flood which was supposed to have removed all the sinners from the world.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@gregloa Nothing, it's impossible to argue against a faith stance as there is no logic in it. It would have been nice if you could have stepped outside your faith for just a short while to explore alternatives.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@gregloa Why is it my fault that the cheetahs are inbred?
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Bushranger I will talk all you want what questions do you have? Faith is believing that which you cannot see. If God is real then he can make anything possible.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Allelse lol
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@gregloa Any answers you give will be based on your faith and I think that I have heard most of them already.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@gregloa Not a very good response to Allelse's question. It would be much better if you gave a more considered response.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Bushranger I told him God cannot be blamed for mans mistakes. Any problem with cheetahs is mans fault.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@gregloa Perhaps more explanation would be of benefit. Maybe not everyone reading this knows what the answer is.
gregloa · 61-69, M
@Bushranger answer to what
