I Have Something to Say

I think the word "Depressed" is being overused.

@Sterling: very well said!

Yes, I agree. It seems depressive and depression are two words very fashionable now.
I think that if you read diagnoses criteria for depression, everyone can meet them in a sadness moment or during a grief. But, what make from them a mental condition is the deepth and the stability of these symtoms along the time.

yeah. Depressed is being used as a mood instead of as a mental illness most often

I agree. It's like the word love. It's lost it's meaning due to overuse.

Yes... if someone feels kinda sad they think they're depressed and start diagnosing themselves with every possible mental illness

I've been told my posts are too depressing but what does it matter.. We'll all be dead soon anyway. :)

Sterling. The thing is, the word "love" didn't lose its meaning. At least, not to everyone. Most of the time, we just hear it from those who don't mean it at all.

A lot of people who're struggling in their lives think they're depressed or suffering depression. They put up anywhere and they will tell you about it. We just don't care anymore, because we know that they're just sad about some stupid things and aren't getting what they want.

@Jack: yes, this is also true.

if someone says one day they have depression but they for the most part are happy that's overusing it
