Moving the Indiana Bell central office building, 1930 [I Have Random Thoughts Of Randomness]

In 1930, the Indiana Bell central office building โ€” an 11,000-ton building โ€” was rotated 90 degrees on its lot over the period of a month. The move was the plan of renowned Indiana architect Kurt Vonnegut Sr. โ€” you may have heard of his son, who later made something of a name for himself.
