I want your opinions (TRIGGER WARNING FOR SEXUAL ASSUALT)

The nursing home where I have my clinicals has a policy prohibiting male staff from working from 11pm to 7am. The reasoning being that there were two sexual assault cases against male staff. Allegedly, they had assaulted female residents. One of these cases turned out to be true, but the other case was false. In the false case, the female resident lied about the assault because she was mad at the male staff. However, at the point of her confession, he'd lost everything. Some of the guys in my cohort thought this policy was discriminatory but, I can understand why they have the policy. I want to know what you guys think.

SA can happen at any time not just at night so that policy confuses me… it would make more sense to me that the male staff work with male residents and female staff work with female residents

In our legal justice system, We operate by presumption of innocence. The plaintiff must prove the defendant is guilty. An accusation is not proof a crime was committed.

Sounds like cameras need to be installed so this cannot happen again.

Well then pay all of the male employees a double shift premium for having to work the early shifts
