EP has become a huge closed down library, and if you can figure out how to get in, you can browse to your heart's content.

I Googled, "Boshie at the Experience Project" and the doors opened. If you press on someone's name, they automatically kick you out the door.

Whenever someone has legal problems, they don't have to tell anyone the reason why.
Does that make sense?

The problems with it were simple.
They had hoped to attract advertisers and so share the cost of running the site.
But it didnt happen.
There was (so it's reported) a murder which occurred in the U.S. and they used the site as a way of communicating prior to it happening.
And the other reason is that because of the anonymity issue.
Following new laws in the U.S. you need to give personal data to join ANY website in the U.S.
Aparantly EP were asked to provide details of all members on their site. This in light of new terror laws passed in the states.
They argued that to do so negates the whole point of being able to share personal experiences without fear or favour. The U.S. said 'Do it or we shut you down!'
The owners then decided better to pull the plug, regroup and restart.
Experience again is the name of the site.
There is a WEBPAGE and you can leave your details to be contacted when the new site officially opens.
However. The launch date has been put back several times.
This is how I understand it.

It is not that complicated if people had read everything that they put out. There is a lot of work running a site like that. Their revenue stream was only some cheap ads put into the feed. Since the beginning the site was bases off a very successful anonymous section of a help site for an illness. What made the original site such a success was complete anonymity allowing for people to really let it all out about their experience which helped others with the same experiences. As a site gets popular you have all kinds of intrusions from government for your data. They could not continue to meet the demands of various government and semi government agencies properly vetting them to make sure their request were real and within the law and at the same time live up to their promise of privacy for EP s users. Of course there were also bad actors disrupting things but that is not why they closed.
problem is will SW go the same way i mean what ever happen to EP could it happen here. I had a lot of friends on EP and now starting again i dont think i could start again if this one goes

Let's face it. This site can't last either. There are no ads and most of us need anonymity and can't hide a monthly charge.

I don't think they could afford the upkeep. And there was an EP murder that they are going to be sued for.

something bout government shUt it down, which made no sense, it could make sense about the government thing if someone kid from the government was on it & someone pissed him/her off & she/he asked daddy to get it shut down, cause overal that makes no SENSE

In my country there were evildoers who got victims through Facebook for raping and frauds cases.

Facebook is still fine though.
