I don't think I've ever had it properly. During lock down I home schooled my kids and we did a project about America. We baked cornbread but it was heavy and gritty and not very nice. There is a local restaurant that serves little chunks of what is said to be cornbread but other than being yellow, I don't think it bears much resemblance to what is actually eaten in America. It's totally different to what we baked and is always deep fried. It isn't gritty. That's nice but I'd be interested to try the proper stuff one day 😊
