Listen. Tell them some positive things about themselves. Buy them a coffee or tea. Just give a little sunshine.

Prayer is always the best way. After that there is no pat best way as we all have different needs. Some may need a tank of gas to get them through the week. Someone else may be all alone and just need someone to talk to for a couple of hours over a cup of coffee. We all have different needs.
