Is there anyway I can make myself believe something?

How can I make myself believe something, like if I wanted to raise my self esteem and I currently do not feel good enough is it about telling myself? im doing something right enough times? I have repeated things I want to belive in and I still do not belive in them. What should I do?

Make good friends, work a job that allows you to do kind and try to be kind I suppose. Read good books and practice what they preach?
