I make good connections with people when we are doing things together that we enjoy: doing volunteer work, playing sports, working on hobbies or special interests.

It's easier to deal with those you already know because they already know a version of you and are comfortable to reach out.

But the current version of me prohibits me from opening up too much. To both old and new acquaintances. So there's a gap and I find it difficult too.

But in my experience, the people I actually want to talk to started with small and big steps till we grew closer. So patience and effort and desire. I would say those three.

In real life? I wish I knew. It only happened when I was actually forced to spend a lot of time with them in the same space (school, work) or if they somehow picked me and made an effort to get to know me. 😅

By being real to yourself and how you present yourself to people! Whoever and however that may happen....I mean I know it sounds crazy to you younger folks but there was a world before smart phones and social media
