Is there a food you just cannot eat either because of health or an intense dislike of it?
As kids, most start out drinking cordials, fruit juices and fizzy drinks for a treat. I know this isn't all kids, but I think it is probably a big percentage of us as youngsters. Most of us are brought up with a strong neutral pathway to sweeter tasting substances, and we don't tend to crave harsh and bitter tastes. But as we get on a bit our taste changes.
My mother told me about how her gran used to give her a wee drop of Guinness as a baby to soothe her. I remember trying a little sip myself as a kid and it felt like I had stuck my tongue on a battery (another kid got me to do this at eleven 🙄) so beer has never been a favourite of mine. Or: Sushi, black pudding, liver or any kind of offal, coleslaw.

My first grade teacher found out the hard way that cooked broccoli makes me puke during the first week of school in september 1976, all over her desk while she was grading papers. I had gone up front to tell her i felt sick, but before I could say anything, HUKKA HUKKA HUKKA MCYAK!
@beermeplease When she brought my parents in for a conference my Dad cracked up laughing when I said I told my teacher broccoli made me sick and she still made me eat it at lunch, he said she deserved it.
