I agree there’s no scientific proof. I also think God is a Being humans cannot describe or comprehend. It stands to reason if we do not understand the universe, or infinity, we cannot understand the Creator of the universe.
I don’t think God lives in the sky behind pearly gates. Those things are how we attempt to understand.
Humans try to humanize animals, forces of nature and, at death, what happens next. Because those are concepts we can grasp.
I do not think God cares if we are baptized, if we dance, or if we love someone differently. Churches are not built by God. They are built by humans. Sometimes those humans are trying to get as close to God as they can. More often, they are built by humans trying to get close to their followers’ wallets.
I don’t think God is a cheerleader. The closest I could come is a Being who is an architect and teacher.

@Mamapolo2016 wow what a beautiful piece. It’s all the things that I think about all the time. You just expressed in such eloquently way

@Mamapolo2016 Have you ever read or watched a movie called What Dreams May Come? I think heaven is like what's described there and it also can be interpreted like that in the Bible.
Mamapolo2016 · F
@Lostpoet I saw the movie. It, too, is an attempt by humans to comprehend. Since I am human. I can’t say if it’s right.

It's up to each person to decide. 🤷
I like the way Descartes tries to parcel it out:
God is a central figure, acting as the ultimate guarantor of truth, the source of innate ideas (like infinity), and the foundation for knowledge beyond radical doubt, proving God's existence through ontological arguments (existence is a perfection, thus a perfect being must exist) and causal arguments (an infinite idea requires an infinite cause) in his Meditations. He defines God as an infinite, independent, supremely perfect being, whose existence is necessary for the certainty of reason and the external world
Innate Idea: Humans possess an innate idea of God as an infinite, perfect being, like a craftsman's mark on his product, placed there by God himself.

I think,
...Sort of...but not as the majorty imagine there to be.
There isnt this transcendental being with white skin and a beard in flowing robes riding the clouds.
I think its more a consciousness that is dimensionally woven into our universe.
Thus making everything 'god', and god be everything.

‘Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the sentiment of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.’ -Marx
Belief in god feels like freedom without addressing the actual facts of what is oppressing the people. A salve for the mind of those who cannot see they would rather be subjected to oppression of an omnipotent being than to recognize they are being oppressed by their fellow man.

I don't know
Lostpoet · M
@ScreamingFox Agnostic?
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Lostpoet no, I know there's something, but I don't claim to know exactly. I don't really subscribe to any religion really, I prefer to stay in tune with the earth.

There is God because of the bible. No book has brought so much life and light to the enigma of humanity

Yes, and he lives in the White House

Yes but not the god you’ve been told to believe by Christians.

and you actually believe that a vote will count

@val70 I believe God is in everything and he's outside of everything. He isn't limited to physics and time. But in saying that I've never actually had a spiritually enlightened experience. Just everything that I know and read about life there has to be a God or non of this could actually exist.
You are “god” everything is “god”
