@jshm2 the bank reported it to me

The banks will tell you that the protections on CCs are better than on debit cards. It's likely one of the things you have on auto pay or an online use of the debit card that compromised your number. If you can get a CC, move auto pay items and online purchases to that card. Use your debit card only for in person purchases. Don't forget to pay off your CC of course.

Do not use a debit card unless absolutely necessary. They do not have the same protections as a credit card. I only ever use my debit card to get cadh at an ATM.

Don't put in your pin when you make purchases run the transaction as credit.
pearllederman · 61-69, F
@Justmeraeagain i havent used the pin lately
Get a PIN number if you don't have one and if you have one, change the pin number.
@Justmeraeagain
You're smarter than I am. Haha Thank you for sharing that with us! That's why we're all here, to help each other so I thank you so much for that. That's very important to know. ❤🤗

@LadyGrace I only know because of my sister's experience. No problem
@Justmeraeagain
"my sister, who had her identity stolen, said don't use your PIN when you make the transactions run as credit"

It would be nice if you might feel led to share your findings with everyone here. That's up to you, but it might save someone a lot of heartache and trouble.

Idk that was happening to my husband for awhile too.. make sure its not stored on your phone because of hackers and avoid clickbate nonsense
Complain to your banking authority and advise them you did not authorise these transactions,
pearllederman · 61-69, F
@OriginalNedKelly they know it wasn't me
Perry1968 · M
Did the bank reimburse you?
pearllederman · 61-69, F
@Perry1968 some of it, there was a bunch of stuff they took out, not just one so they're doing it one at a time while they investigate it
Have the bank trace the transactions, find the common source, then have the police track them down.
pearllederman · 61-69, F
@NativePortlander1970 they're already doing that
@pearllederman Good, hopefully they get caught, they could be doing it to others as well.
