Is it fair to make up a fake scenario and get upset with someone because of how you think they would act?

It's understandable to feel upset but not to 'get upset with someone'. I've felt upset after dreams a few times. It's a strange thing because it seemed so real.

Seems like a waste of time & energy. What would be the objective of doing so? Testing a person to see how they will react to future scenarios?
