What have you outgrown this year?

I have outgrown some of my resentment towards some people, to the degree that I do wish them well now.

I have , perhaps sadly, also outgrew the sense of community I used to have..the sense of obligation still exists but on its own, independent and self-sustaining. I do what I believe in for its own sake, irrespective of others destroying my work and whether it will be honored. And it doesn't offer me any connection nor belonging. It does offer me joy in some instances and that I am grateful for.

I think I've outgrown/ gotten past my need to think the best of everyone and expect too much from people around me. Some are the way they are, and I have to accept it
@Bexsy thank goodness those of us on here meet your high expectations. single. time.

@Bexsy True, radical change anyways falls on too many shoulders unless it's self-chosen. Sometimes to free someone else, you have to free yourself first from them. There are many instances where letting go is the ultimate domino effect.

Good question (again). Perhaps me thinking that I'm going mad instead of some people who surround me. Just need to keep myself right, that's myself and safe
Miram · 31-35, F
@val70 Yes, just, sane, fair, good don't always equate the norm. And what better way to get rid of the few reminders of one's own sins than treat the reminders as sins themselves.

Nearly everything in my life. I am definitely at a turning point in my years and very ready to let go of hopes and fears alike.
my sense of tribalism. considering how my own people have treated me they're on their own.
@Miram yes I certainly was. I really can't stand that sort of tribalism and it's rampant here and all over the world so I will just avoid it.
Miram · 31-35, F
@StygianKohlrabi Yes, it is indeed all over the world. It is fickle form of bastardized tribalism. There are tribes, away from the eyes of the world, that live peacefully and purely. They haven't learnt what it is like to use every sacred thing for trivial wants that never end.

They are few though.

I often feel like our views centered around the theory of evolution and the survival of the fittest, including tribalism from an psycho-evolutionary perspective are all self fulfilling prophecies.
@Miram yes. I believe in Darwinism but also a creator. They have to fit together somehow otherwise everything is just chaos.

I hope i outgrow getting angry at things i'm powerless to change.
Miram · 31-35, F
@TheYawnArchive We share that in common. Our poor livers, kidneys and arteries getting screwed over by our amygdalas and frontal lobes.

Ahh.

It is a process.

Hatred.
Not like prejudice I mean, but the personal kind. Still believe in justice, but blind jatred just eats you from the inside.
