Do ever feel like people do nice things for you, but it's for them to feel good about doing some nice, because they're normally selfish?

I've learned a while back that there's a big difference between being nice and being kind.

Nice people want others to like them, want to feel good about themselves, want something in return for their acts. They turn good deeds into a performance.

Kind people do things because they're empathetic beings that see someone in need of help. They don't want anything in return. They just want to do their part to relieve other people's suffering
