@Tumbleweed The original formula, when cash was the norm for leaving tips for decades the irs estimated 15% of the total receipts servers wrote out, after credit card point of sales showed how much in tips they got, obama's irs started taxing higher.

@NativePortlander1970 well they don't make anything at all to amount to much so their tips are what gets them through & I think it's wrong to take that from them.
@Tumbleweed you would be surprised how much a server can make in an average day off tips
