What does it mean when someone says they see right through you? Is this good or bad?

Depends on how they mean it. When I was trying to play down that I was still grieving, my best friend told me she could see through it and that I didn’t have to pretend with her.

@Fish2fry90 It wasn’t. What she was saying was that I didn’t have to hide that I was still grieving around her. We’ve been friends for 45 years, and we know each other’s families well. I lost my mother in Feb 2023, she lost hers the very next month. I was trying to be strong for my father and siblings.

My friend told me she could see through that mask, and that I didn’t have to wear it around her.
