Can someone tell me how you earn SW coins please and thank you? I need a few more before I can send the gift I want to.

You can earn SW Coins by:
Being a good and contributing member of the site.
Being active on SimilarWorlds and visiting regularly.
Following the rules of the site (as breaking them will have negative effects).
Avoiding conflicts with other members.
! Engaging in unacceptable behavior on SimilarWorlds may cause significant delays in you earning more coins. As long as you continue to be a good member, your earned coins will continue to increase at a regular rate.
Coins are only rewarded every couple of hours, so you may notice delays in your earned coins being added to your available balance.

Just to mention a new feature that no one has mentioned. You can literally buy coins for yourself and others.
