We easily afford living on social security and a bit of savings, actually we get a little richer with each passing month. We own our home and auto, have no debt and pretty much feel like we can afford to do whatever we wat to.

Biggest expenses are taxes and insurance.

I'm active in the stock market, but it's mostly a model building project for myself. In one of my last jobs I was heavily involved in financial model building for banks, accountants and investment bankers so I have the bug. It's all about math and statistics and not really about the money. But my attention there has to be shared with taking care of the yard, fixing what's broken and caring for a hospice spouse. Overall that takes priority, but as I go down the list making more money comes in behind the flowers.
